  • 9 Practical Steps for Daily Aligned Living

God,

I come before you, fully aware of the complexities of my life. I know I am not alone in facing the doubts and fears that arise. These are part of my human experience, shaped by the world, circumstances, and my own mind. But I also know they do not have to control me. I lean into them, Lord, acknowledging that they are real and that I need your intervention to heal and overcome them.

I pray for the mentorship of the Holy Spirit to help me process and understand the origin of these fears, these doubts, and the patterns I’ve allowed to persist in my life. I ask you to shine your light on where I am stuck God. Show me where in my personal life, my relationships, my work, or in my spiritual walk – wherever I need clarity, I trust you God to reveal it.

I repent for all the times I let these things get in the way of my path and your Will. I repent for myself. I repent for my family lines. I repent for all past generations. I repent for our collective experience. God please forgive us. I lean into the wisdom and mentorship of your Holy Spirit. I pray for the Holy Spirit, Jesus, The Angelic Realm, and God to intercede on our behalf.

God please show me the gap between where I am and where you are calling me to be. God I trust that you will walk me through this, step by step. I soften my heart to your love and favor. I open my heart and my ears to receiving your Wisdom and Promptings of your Holy Spirit.

John 14:26 (NIV):

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

God, I bring my relationships before you. Whether in family, friendships, or community, I recognize that they come with their own set of challenges and gifts. I ask you, God, to heal any wounds, restore brokenness, and bring peace to these dynamics. I take full responsibility for the role I’ve played God. I own my part.

I repent and ask for your forgiveness. I repent for myself. I repent for my family lines. I repent for all past generations. I repent for our collective experience. God please forgive us. I lean into the wisdom and mentorship of your Holy Spirit. I pray for the Holy Spirit, Jesus, The Angelic Realm, and for you God to intercede on our behalf.

God, help me to love with your love, forgive as you forgive, and be a light to those around me. Holy Spirit, help me to strengthen my discernment, to navigate difficult conversations, set healthy boundaries, and understand the hearts of those I interact with. God I want to reflect your love in all that I do, especially in relationships, interactions, and experiences that feel strained and hard. God I pray that you lead me, guide me, and show me your way.

1 John 4:7-8 (NIV):

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

God, I again surrender my business and my professional path into your hands. I know that this work you’ve called me to is important, and I want to honor you with it. I know that this is for your Glory. Help me to align my vision with yours, to make decisions that reflect your truth and values, and to move forward in faith, not fear.

When doubt creeps in about my ability or my next steps, I pray for you to renew my mind. Remind me that with you God, nothing is impossible. I affirm this with (Matthew 19:26) “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’

God, help me to stay focused on your guidance and not on the noise of the world or my own insecurities and perceptions. When doubt creeps in, remind me of your promises and the truth of who you are. God, I pray that you teach me to discern your voice amidst the chaos, trusting in your wisdom over my limited understanding.

I repent for all of the times when I allowed that to supersede your guidance.

Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV):

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

God I know that with every step you’re strengthening my faith to move forward boldly, knowing that you are leading me. I anchor my heart in your peace, and let your truth be the foundation of every thought, word, and action. When challenges arise, remind me that your power is made perfect in my weakness.

God help me to trust even more in your timing, walk in obedience, and rest in the assurance that you are always working all things together for my good.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV):

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Jesus, I thank you for the strength and grace you have given me and the blessings of your sacrifice. I repent for allowing any belief or action that hasn’t served your purpose to take root in my life. I ask for your forgiveness where I’ve allowed fear to drive me instead of faith.

God, I bring my spiritual path before you. I recognize that my relationship with You is the foundation of everything. Help me to deepen my trust in you, to move past the things that have hindered my connection with you, and to fully embrace the peace and wisdom you offer. God I repent for all of the ways and times I allowed the noise and agendas of others to lead me away from your guidance.

I repent for myself, I repent for my family lines, I repent for all past generations, I repent for our collective experience. God please forgive us. I lean into the wisdom and mentorship of your Holy Spirit. I pray for the Holy Spirit, Jesus, The Angelic Realm, and God to intercede on our behalf.

God, guide me into a closer walk with you – show me where I’ve held onto limiting beliefs, fears, resentment, or worldly paradigms, and help me to let go of them. I want to be fully surrendered to you, living in alignment with your will for my life. I repent for all of the times where I walked in my ego or worldly materialistic beliefs over your guidance and word.

I repent for myself, I repent for my family lines, I repent for all past generations, I repent for our collective experience. God please forgive us. Holy Spirit, I pray for you, Jesus, the Angelic Realm, and God to intercede on my behalf in these areas of doubt and confusion, and I trust that you will bring transformation in my heart and mind. Help me to release all that doesn’t align with your will.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV):

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

God, I pray for your protection over all that I do – over my heart, my mind, my body, my work, and my relationships. Surround me with your angels, guarding me against any schemes of the enemy that seek to disrupt my peace and purpose. I know that no weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and I stand on that promise.

I repent for all the times I didn’t believe this and allowed my faith to waver.

Isaiah 54:17 (NIV):
“No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.

God I pray that you shield us from negativity, harmful influences, and anything that seeks to derail me from your plan. I know that you supersede it all – every obstacle, every challenge, every negative influence that tries to come against me. You are greater than any force in this world. I place my trust in you God, in your power, knowing that you will guard me, protect my heart and mind, and guide me towards your perfect will.

I repent for all the times I didn’t believe this and put anything or anyone above you.

Romans 8:31 (NIV):

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

God I pray that your presence surrounds me, so that nothing can shake my foundation in you. Strengthen my faith to stand firm, and help me to recognize when distractions arise, that I may stay focused on your will and purpose for my life.

Lord, I also ask for your provision – physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial. I trust that you know exactly what I need and that you will provide in your perfect timing. I surrender all worries about what’s next, knowing that you are the source of everything good (James 1:17). Thank You for Your endless provision and care.

James 1:17 (NIV):
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

Holy Spirit, I pray for your mentorship and guidance through every challenge, every moment of doubt, and every step of growth. I open my heart to the transformation you bring. I trust that you are renewing me from the inside out. Show me where I need to grow, where I need to release old patterns, and where I need to step out in faith.

I trust that you will never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5). Even in the moments I don’t feel your presence, I know you are always here, leading me toward the future God has prepared for me.

Hebrews 13:5 (NIV):

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

God, thank you for your patience with me, for your love that never fails, and for your guidance that is always steady. I trust that you will continue to mold me into who you’ve called me to be. I am open to your will, and I will move forward with courage, knowing you are with me every step of the way.

In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Practical Steps for Daily Aligned Living

1. Start Your Day in Surrender and Sacred Connection

Begin each morning with a moment of surrender to God, acknowledging that He is in control and that His plan for you is greater than anything you can anticipate. Offer a simple prayer asking God to lead, protect, and guide your steps. Set the tone for your day by dedicating time to connect with God, whether through prayer, journaling, or quiet reflection. Create sacred space throughout your day to nourish your relationship with Him and seek His wisdom in all things.

2. Anchor in Scripture:

Choose a verse or passage that speaks to your heart and anchor your day in it. When challenges arise, speak that verse out loud as a reminder of God’s truth and promises. For example, you can meditate on Romans 8:31 or Isaiah 54:17 when negativity or doubt tries to creep in.

3. Set Intentional Goals:

Align your personal and professional goals with God’s purpose for your life. Take practical steps toward your goals each day while acknowledging His leading. Trust that God will guide you to the right opportunities and help you overcome obstacles.

4. Focus on What You Can Control:

In moments of doubt or fear, shift your focus to what you can control. You may not have control over others’ actions or outside circumstances, but you do have control over how you respond. Lean into God’s Word, Will, and Promises. Pray to the Holy Spirit for Wisdom, Discernment, and Intercession on your behalf. Choose peace, trust, and faith over stress and worry.

5. Mindful Listening:

Take time daily to listen for God’s guidance. This could be through prayer, meditation, or quiet reflection. Tune into His voice and pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you, especially in moments when you face tough decisions or confusion.

6. Guard Your Mind:

Protect your thoughts by actively choosing what you allow into your mind. Be mindful of the content you consume, whether it’s social media, news, or conversations. Fill your mind with positive, uplifting, and truth-filled messages that align with God’s Word and His Promises.

7. Forgive and Release:

Practice forgiveness daily, both for yourself and others. Understand that unforgiveness blocks the flow of peace and can hold you back from fully embracing God’s plan. Let go of past hurts and trust that God will heal and restore you in His time.

8. Trust in His Timing:

Remind yourself regularly that God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t match your own. If something isn’t happening as quickly as you’d like, lean into His plan with patience and trust that He is working behind the scenes for your good. Pray for the mentorship of the Holy Spirit to show you what you’re not seeing and the parts you get to play, and where you’re out of alignment.

9. Celebrate Your Progress:

Acknowledge your growth, no matter how small. Celebrate the ways you are moving closer to His plan for your life and honor the journey, even in the midst of challenges. Gratitude shifts your perspective and brings a deeper sense of peace.

What Does It Mean That the Bible Is a Living Body of Work?

What Does It Mean That the Bible Is a Living Body of Work?

Explore how the Bible’s timeless truths and active guidance can transform our faith, align our lives, and deepen our connection with God.

Let’s talk about this idea of the Bible being “living.” It’s something I’ve heard a lot, but I always wondered – what does that really mean?

Apparently It’s not just some poetic way to describe scripture. It means the Bible is active, relevant, and constantly shaping how we connect with God and live our lives.

I found this fascinating and the more I intentionally dive into the understanding of Biblical Principles and how the parables and verses speak to the themes that we face today has been both a humbling and enlightening experience.

Ok here’s what I’ve learned so far.

Article Contents

  • The Bible is Spiritually Alive

  • Biblical Principles are Timeless and Relevant

  • The Personal and Transformative Impact of Scripture

  • God’s Voice in Our Life

  • Why Engaging with the Bible Matters

The Bible is Spiritually Alive

The Bible isn’t just words on a page. It’s alive because it’s inspired by God and carried by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17). When we read it, it’s not just about understanding stories or rules – it’s about experiencing something real, something that speaks directly to our hearts.

Hebrews 4:12: “The word of God is alive and active.” That means scripture has power. It can challenge us, comfort us, and guide us in ways that hit exactly where we need them. It’s like God is having a conversation with us through His Word.

Biblical Principles are Timeless and Relevant

What blows my mind is how the Bible stays relevant no matter the time or place. It doesn’t matter if it was written thousands of years ago – the principles still speak to our challenges today. Love, forgiveness, grace, justice – these truths don’t expire.

And the thing is, it’s not about the surface-level stories or rules. It’s about deeper principles that apply to the way we live, think, and interact with the world. That’s why people from completely different cultures and backgrounds can still find truth and guidance in it.

The Personal and Transformative Impact of Scripture

The Bible meets us right where we are, offering guidance and insight that resonates uniquely in different seasons of our lives. Have you ever read a verse and noticed how its meaning changes depending on your circumstances? That’s the living, active nature of scripture – God’s Word working through the Holy Spirit to provide exactly what we need in the moment.

This personal interaction with scripture has a profound way of shifting our perspectives and helping us process life’s challenges. It’s not just about understanding the words on the page; it’s about allowing them to work within us, guiding us toward growth and clarity.

As Romans 12:2 reminds us, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Engaging with scripture in a meaningful way transforms us, renewing our minds and helping us align with God’s purpose. This transformative power isn’t just theoretical – it’s a lived experience that shapes how we think, feel, and show up in the world, bringing us closer to the person God created us to be.

God’s Voice in Our Life

This is the part that feels so personal to me. The Bible is one of the ways God speaks to us. It’s not just about reading; it’s about listening – listening for the guidance, clarity, and conviction that He’s bringing through His Word.

And here’s the thing: it’s not about perfection or understanding everything right away. It’s about being open to that connection, to the ways God uses scripture to guide us.

The other part of this is the awareness it brings us. When we sit in prayer and meditate on the messages that verses and biblical principles give us we open up to the mentorship and promptings of the Holy Spirit. This supports us to soften and open our hearts more to God and his wisdom.

Now from this place of awareness we can then acknowledge the part we’ve played in our life and experiences and ask for forgiveness where we’ve been out of alignment with God’s will and Biblical Principles. This is a part of Repenting. We will be exploring this deeper soon.

The next part is to pray and ask the Holy Spirit, Jesus, the Angelic Realm & God to intercede on our behalf. Prayer is our direct line to God, a sacred conversation where we not only speak but also listen. It’s in these moments of prayer that we can pour out our hearts, seek His guidance, and ask for His intervention – not just in our lives but in the lives of others. Intercession is a powerful act of standing in the gap for those in need, aligning our hearts with God’s desires for restoration, healing, and peace.

This is also where we bring our specific requests and concerns, trusting that God hears us and works all things together for our good. It’s in these times of prayer that we often find the strength, comfort, and clarity we need to move forward.

Finally, we step into obedience. As we hear God’s voice and feel the promptings of the Holy Spirit, it’s important to act on them. Obedience to God’s Word and His will is a tangible expression of our faith and trust in Him. It’s not always easy, but it’s through obedience that we truly align our lives with His purpose.

When we walk this path – listening, repenting, praying, and obeying – we grow closer to God and allow His voice to guide every part of our lives. This path can feel like a process, but it’s one that can lead to deeper peace, stronger faith, and a life that reflects God’s glory.

Why Engaging with the Bible Matters

When we talk about the Bible as a living body of work, it’s not just about respecting it as a sacred text – it’s about letting it be active in our lives. It’s about engaging with it in a way that’s honest, open, and personal.

This is why I approach scripture the way I do. It’s not just about memorizing verses or following rules. It’s about asking questions, exploring what’s coming up for us, and seeing how it aligns (or doesn’t) with what God is revealing in His Word.

So, as you sit with scripture, I encourage you to ask yourself:

  • What’s coming up for me as I read this?

  • How is this aligning (or not) with how I’m living my life?

  • What might God be trying to show me here?

That’s what makes it a living work. It’s not static – it’s moving, active, and shaping us in real-time.

Foundations of Grounding

In this post, we’re diving into the foundational practices that support grounding: Heart, Root, and Feet. We’ll explore how each of these plays a role in stabilizing you emotionally and spiritually. We’ll also talk about how conscious breathing enhances grounding and helps you feel more aligned in your body and mind.

Why Grounding is Essential for Emotional Well-Being

Grounding isn’t just about staying physically stable – it’s about anchoring our mind, body, and soul. When life feels chaotic, grounding helps us tap into a sense of inner peace. It offers a solid foundation that shields us from emotional turbulence and helps us stay aligned with our values, goals, and God’s will.

Without grounding, we can experience a multitude of different symptoms like, feeling scattered, disconnected, constantly overwhelmed, or even physical symptoms like dizziness & nausea.

When we ground ourselves, we invite more balance into our lives. Grounding helps us manage stress, regain focus, and restore emotional stability. I believe it’s a crucial practice for us to maintain throughout our day.

3 Essential Grounding Practices

Now, let’s break down some of the key practices that create this emotional and spiritual foundation.

  • Heart: The heart is your center of love, compassion, and connection. Grounding through your heart brings awareness to this sacred space, helping you to tap into a deeper connection with God and His Higher Wisdom. It helps us move beyond worldly conditioning and desires, aligning us with His divine will.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”(Proverbs 4:23)

  • Spiritual Roots: Being deeply grounded in the Holy Spirit and God’s promises provides stability and strength. Just as roots anchor a tree, our spiritual roots establish us in faith, love, and God’s truth. This grounding reminds us that no matter what life brings, we are firmly planted in His peace and guidance.

As Ephesians 3:17 says, “That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith – that you, being rooted and grounded in love.”

  • Feet: Focus on your feet to ground yourself in the present moment. This awareness cultivates stability and presence, supporting us to be even more present in our daily experiences.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105

Begin with Your Heart

This is our center of love, compassion, and connection. Grounding through your heart means bringing your awareness into the center of your heart. I teach and practice the heart connection. This is what allows me to tap into the purity of my connection with God and Higher Wisdom. It allows us to come out of our conditioning and flesh desires and into the true deep connection with God.

Biblical Principles:

  • Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. (Matthew 22:37)
This verse speaks to the importance of grounding ourselves in love and compassion, starting from the heart. It emphasizes that love and alignment with God are central to our lives. When we center ourselves in love – both for God and others – we connect deeply to our true selves and align our intentions with divine purposes.

  • Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10)
This verse calls for a heart transformation, which aligns with the practice of healing and offering love to the parts of ourselves that need restoration. It speaks to the process of reconnecting with the purity of our intentions and desires, grounded in God’s love and compassion.

Heart Connection Practice

Connect with your heart and inner wisdom through this simple practice. By focusing on your heart center, you’ll access intuition, guidance, and self-compassion, helping you navigate life with greater clarity and understanding.

This technique is ideal for those seeking to deepen their relationship with themselves and tap into their inner truth.

Start with the Simple Breathing Practice

  1. Take a moment to pause.

  2. Soften your gaze.

  3. Now take a deep breath in through your nose.

  4. Allow that air to fill your lungs.

  5. Feel your tummy expand.

  6. Allow that nourishing breath to absorb any stress, tension, and emotional energy that’s not serving you.

  7. When you’re ready exhale out your mouth. Allowing it to be carried away by the breath.

Repeat 3-5 times.

Next Heart Connection Practice

  1. Bring your awareness into the center of your heart

  2. On your next inhale breathe deep into the center of your Heart you can place your hands there if you like

  3. Exhale

  4. Take another slow deep breath into your Heart, hold it for a 4 seconds

  5. Exhale

  6. Take another slow deep into your Heart, hold it for a 4 seconds

  7. Exhale

  8. Allow the love in your heart to overflow filling you up and expanding out as far as you want it to go.

Spend 3 – 5 minutes sitting in this space connected with your heart.

I encourage you to spend a couple of minutes journaling on what comes up for you during this practice

Invite God’s Wisdom and the Holy Spirit into Your Grounding

After grounding through your breath and heart, we now open ourselves to receive guidance from God and the Holy Spirit. This final step is about attuning our hearts and spirits to God’s presence, asking Him to lead us in all areas of our lives.

Biblical Principle:

  • If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5) In this practice, we invite God’s wisdom and the Holy Spirit to guide us as we ground ourselves. We ask for clarity, direction, and peace, trusting that God is faithful to lead us.

How to Incorporate God’s Wisdom:

  • Pause and Invite the Holy Spirit: Before continuing with your grounding practice, take a moment to invite the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Holy Spirit, I welcome you now to fill my heart with your wisdom. Help me to connect more deeply with Your guidance as I ground myself in Your truth.

Breathe

  • Listen for God’s Wisdom: After taking a few breaths and grounding in your heart, pause for a moment of stillness. Open your heart to God’s Wisdom. Trust that, in this space of peace, He will speak to you – whether through a feeling, an intuitive nudge, or a word that comes to your mind.

Remember this isn’t about forcing anything to happen or it looking a certain way. This is about tuning into your heart and being open to your unique connection with God.

Practice:

  • Ask for God’s Guidance: In this stillness, ask God:

    • Lord, what wisdom do you want me to hear today?

    • How can I walk more fully in your peace?

    • Holy Spirit, guide me in the steps ahead, align my heart and actions with Your will.

Continue to take slow deep Breaths

  • Sit in Gods Presence: Spend a few more minutes simply resting in Gods presence, grounded and open to receiving His guidance. Allow your awareness to be drawn toward any thoughts or inspirations that come to you, trusting that they are from Him.

When to use: I suggest using this practice daily in the morning & throughout your day whenever you feel like you’re in your head.

Grounding: A Path to Stability and Divine Connection

Grounding is a vital practice that nurtures our emotional and spiritual well-being, helping us to stay connected to our truth and to God. By grounding through our hearts and inviting God’s wisdom, we create a foundation that brings more clarity, peace, and stability to our lives.

Incorporating these practices daily helps align us with our inner strength, making us more resilient and open to divine guidance. Remember, grounding is not a one-time event but an ongoing practice that supports our emotional health and deepens our connection with God.

As we move forward, it’s important to remember that grounding isn’t just a concept but a skill we can enhance through our connection to both the earth and our bodies.

In the next post, we’ll explore two other supportive grounding techniques, Rooted in the Holy Spirit & Rooted in God’s Presence – that help you stay present, clear, and connected. These simple, effective practices can enhance our spiritual and emotional resilience, helping us to ground into a deeper alignment with God’s wisdom and will for our lives.

The Power of Grounding: Why It’s a Game Changer

Have you ever felt like life is just pulling you in every direction? Like you’re moving through your day but not really present? That’s what it feels like to be ungrounded. But when you’re grounded, everything shifts – you’re calmer, more focused, and able to handle whatever life throws your way.

So, let’s talk about what it really means to be grounded and why it matters.

What Does Being Grounded Look Like?

Being and feeling grounded can look and feel different for each of us based on different contexts and seasons of life. The goal of this series is to help you understand what this means and looks like for you and to give you things to consider and lean into to support your understanding and process.

To me, being grounded means being fully present in your body and connected to God’s peace. It’s about feeling rooted and steady, no matter what’s happening around you. Instead of reacting out of fear or overwhelm, you respond from a place of clarity on the next step.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about creating space for ourselves to be fully in the moment, with God as our anchor.

During this series you will clarify what this looks like for you in action at this point in your path.

woman wearing black sports bra

Why Staying Grounded Is Essential for Your Well-being.

When we’re ungrounded, it’s easy to get stuck in a cycle of stress, anxiety, or overwhelm. We overthink, we overdo, and we lose sight of what’s truly important. But grounding changes everything:

  • You regulate your emotions. You’re no longer ruled by stress or worry.

  • You create boundaries. Grounding helps you protect your energy and release what doesn’t serve you.

  • You’re present. You can focus on what matters and trust that God is working things out.

The Hidden Costs of Suppressed Emotions

Here’s the thing – when we push down emotions, they don’t just disappear. They linger in our bodies and create tension, which makes it harder for us to stay grounded.

When we suppress emotions, we sever our connection to the truth within us and the guidance around us. This disconnection can lead to confusion, tension, and overwhelm, making it challenging for us to navigate our day with clarity and purpose.

Being grounded means staying connected to:

  • The present moment – where life unfolds and we can respond with intention.

  • The mentorship & wisdom of the Holy Spirit – guiding us toward peace, alignment, and divine truth.

  • God’s Will, Values, & Promises – this provides us a solid foundation of faith and trust, no matter what we face.

  • Our inner state – recognizing when we feel calm or chaotic, and allowing space for growth and regulation.

  • How we actually feel vs. how we’ve convinced ourselves we feel – embracing the truth of our emotions rather than hiding behind masks.

  • What we actually want vs. what we’ve convinced ourselves we want – learning to discern our desires and aligning them with God’s will and plan for us.

A big part of grounding is letting go of what’s weighing you down, so you can feel free and connected. The truth is, when we avoid, deny, or numb out our emotions, we block ourselves from fully engaging in the life God designed for us. Instead, when we acknowledge what we feel and bring it into the light, we create space for growth & potential.

This awareness is the first step in releasing tension, gaining clarity, and stepping into a grounded, faith-filled life. This is an invitation for us to pause, breathe, and reflect.

  • What emotions have you been pushing down?

  • How can you create more space to bring them to God, to process them, and to reconnect with the grounding truth of His presence?

man holding his hands on open book

A Prayer for Presence

Here’s a simple prayer you can use to support yourself to feel more present.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of this moment and for being our steady foundation. We ask for Your peace to flow through us, calming our minds and bodies. Help us release the weight of what no longer serves us and trust that you are guiding our steps. May we feel Your presence anchoring us as we move through this day.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Now Breathe. Below is a Simple Breathing Practice you can use. It has been my go-to for the last 10 years. It’s also what I’ve taught others almost exclusively for the last 8 years.

Simple Breathing Practice

Take a moment to pause.

Soften your gaze.

Now take a deep breath in through your nose.

Allow that air to fill your lungs.

Feel your tummy expand.

Allow that nourishing breath to absorb any stress, tension, and emotional energy that’s not serving you.

When you’re ready exhale out your mouth. Allowing it to be carried away by the breath.

Repeat 3-5 times.

Now ask yourself: Am I grounded, or am I moving through life disconnected and distracted?

If you feel unsteady, ask God to help you realign.

Additional Foundations of Being Grounded in God

  • Our body’s signals – learning to listen to physical sensations like tension, fatigue, or restlessness as clues to our emotional and spiritual state.

  • The truth of our relationships – discerning whether our connections are nurturing, draining, or misaligned with God’s values for us.

  • The wisdom of God’s Word – anchoring ourselves in scripture to gain clarity and strength during times of uncertainty.

  • Our boundaries – identifying where we need to say “yes” or “no” to maintain alignment with our purpose and peace.

  • God’s provision and timing – trusting that we are equipped for this moment and that His timing is perfect, even if it doesn’t match our plans.

  • Our unique calling and gifts – staying rooted in the work God has given us to do, rather than being swayed by comparison or doubt.

  • The power of gratitude – grounding ourselves in appreciation for what God has already provided, which helps us release fear and scarcity.

  • The practice of surrender – releasing control and trusting God’s plan, even when we don’t understand the full picture.

Reflection Prompts for Realignment

Here are 3 simple questions to help guide your reflection process:

  1. What is weighing on my heart that I need to release to you, God?

  2. Where in my life am I being called to trust You more fully?

  3. How can I realign my thoughts and actions with Your peace and calling on my life today?

These questions support clarity and connection while cultivating a sense of grounding & presence.

Remember this is a skill and a process, we’re walking it together. Let’s lean into this process with prayer, intention, and faith. You’ve got this.

Life Happens: Mindfulness Helps

Life Happens: Mindfulness Helps

Yesterday started as a smooth, productive day.

I got my daughter to school, made it to light therapy, had an awesome conversation with a client, baked a quiche & banana bread, and was about to prep lunch for the weekend. Then, life happened.

The kitchen sink had a meltdown. Water everywhere. Before I knew it, the water to the entire house had to be shut off. It was only 11 am

Sometimes this is just life. We all face unexpected events, emergencies, miscommunications, and moments where things just don’t work out. It can be overwhelming, especially when it feels like everything is piling on at once.

The truth is, having skills to navigate the day makes all the difference. For me, it’s the skills I’ve developed over time – mindfulness, breathing techniques, awareness of my thoughts, and staying aligned with what’s important to me.

These aren’t just extras or nice-to-haves. They’re essential life skills.

Mindfulness is what helps you navigate your experiences with clarity and resilience. Breathing techniques ground you in the present moment.

Understanding your thoughts helps you identify and clear resistance before it spirals. These skills keep you from reaching that point of total breakdown – physically, mentally, or emotionally.

What fascinates me is how often we treat these skills as optional or make them feel inaccessible. That’s something I’ve taken a firm stance against. These are skills every human deserves to have.

Life doesn’t stop happening. Emergencies will come.

But when you have the skills to process, connect, align, and regulate as you go, you’re not just surviving – you’re thriving, even in the messiest moments.

These skills have transformed my life, and I’m committed to sharing them with others. They aren’t just for “special occasions” or times when life is falling apart. They’re for every day. For life.

If you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to start building these skills, let this be your sign. Life isn’t waiting, but you don’t have to navigate it unprepared.

What’s one small step you can take today to cultivate mindfulness and resilience in your own life?

The Power of Vibes and Discernment: Tuning Into Your Intuition

The Power of Vibes and Discernment: Tuning Into Your Intuition

Our intuition is a powerful, built-in tool that helps us discern the truth behind the vibes we come across. In a world where words and actions can mislead, your intuition cuts through the noise, offering you a clear signal about what feels right and what doesn’t.

But how often do you truly tune into this inner compass? When we ignore it, we risk inviting red flags to become full-blown obstacles in our lives. Instead, we can strengthen our ability to trust and act on this guidance, bringing clarity and alignment to our decisions.

How Intuition Works as a Form of Discernment

Intuition isn’t just a fleeting feeling; it’s your mind, body, and energy working together to process subtle information that your logic might miss. You may feel it as a nudge, a gut reaction, or even a deep knowing. These cues are your inner compass, helping you navigate situations and relationships with clarity.

Trusting your intuition starts with awareness – paying attention to how your body responds in different situations. For example: tightness in your chest, an uneasy stomach, or a sudden sense of calm can all be signs your intuition is speaking to you. Recognizing these signals is the first step in strengthening your discernment.

The Importance of Being Present with Your Feelings

Presence is the bridge between intuition and discernment. When we’re distracted or emotionally overwhelmed, it’s easy to miss the signals our body and spirit send us.

3 ways to sharpen your discernment:

  1. Slow Down and Create Space for Self-Reflection
Rushing through decisions or situations can make it harder to hear your intuition. Slow down to check in with yourself before taking action. This quick check-in will help you process the information you’re receiving.

  1. Practice Mindfulness to Stay Grounded in the Present Moment
Staying mindful helps you tune into your body’s reactions and energy, making it easier to notice your intuitive cues. Mindfulness helps you clear out distractions so your inner compass is easier to hear.

  1. Be Curious About Your Feelings Instead of Dismissing Them
Instead of ignoring or dismissing how you feel, ask yourself questions. Explore where the feeling is coming from and how it aligns with your values. The more you understand your internal state, the better equipped you’ll be to discern what’s truly right for you.

This practice helps you build trust in your process, so when red flags arise, you’re equipped to respond rather than react.

How to Recognize and Respond to Red Flags Effectively

Red flags are rarely hidden; more often, we choose to overlook them. Why? Because we let emotions like hope, fear, or guilt cloud our judgment. Discernment is about acknowledging these signs without making excuses for them.

When you sense a red flag, ask yourself:

  • What am I feeling right now?

  • Does this situation align with my values and boundaries?

  • Am I making excuses for behavior I wouldn’t tolerate elsewhere?

Your intuition doesn’t need convincing. Trust it to guide you toward decisions that protect your energy and support your growth.

Strengthen Your Inner Knowing

Strengthening your discernment takes practice, but the rewards are priceless. By tuning into your intuition, staying present, and recognizing red flags, you can make choices that align with your well-being.

Practical Exercises to Strengthen Your Intuition

Developing your intuition doesn’t require complicated techniques. Here are simple, actionable steps you can try today:

  • Journal About Intuitive Moments
Reflect on moments when you followed your gut feeling. What happened? How did it feel? Journaling about these experiences helps you build awareness and trust in your intuition over time.

  • A Quick Mindfulness Practice
Take five minutes to sit quietly and tune into your breath. As you focus, ask yourself, “What am I feeling right now?” This practice strengthens your connection to your emotions and inner wisdom.

  • Body Check-In Exercise
When faced with a decision, pause and notice the sensations running through your body. Does your body feel tense or relaxed? Uneasy or calm? These cues can provide valuable insight into your intuition’s guidance.

Common Doubts About Intuition

For some of us it can be natural to second-guess your intuition, especially if you’ve been taught to rely solely on logic. Here’s how to overcome common doubts:

  • Understand the Role of Fear and Conditioning
Doubting your intuition often stems from fear or past experiences where you felt uncertain. Recognize this and give yourself permission to trust your inner voice.

  • Distinguish Intuition from Anxiety or Wishful Thinking
Intuition feels clear and grounded, while anxiety can feel chaotic and urgent. Wishful thinking is typically tied to a desired outcome. The more you practice tuning in, the easier it becomes to differentiate these feelings.

Benefits of Strong Discernment

Enhancing your discernment skills leads to meaningful, tangible improvements in your life, such as:

  • Improved Relationships By recognizing red flags and honoring your boundaries, you cultivate healthier connections.

  • Greater Confidence in Decision-Making Trusting your intuition helps you act with clarity, even in uncertain situations.

  • Reduced Emotional Overwhelm Discernment allows you to navigate challenges with a sense of inner calm and self-assurance, reducing stress.

The Power of Vibes and Discernment: Tuning Into Your Intuition

The Power of Vibes and Discernment: Energy Never Lies

There’s something about vibes that I can’t get enough of. It’s not just a feeling or some woo-woo concept – energy doesn’t lie. It never has.

People can say whatever they want, put on whatever face they think you want to see, but their energy? That speaks volumes. And it’s this truth – that energy is always real – that’s been one of the greatest tools I’ve learned to trust.

We’ve all experienced that uncomfortable moment when something feels off, but we ignore it. A person’s words might sound perfect, but something in their energy doesn’t line up. Maybe you’ve had a conversation where, even though the words were warm, you couldn’t shake that nagging feeling that something was wrong.

This is where the real conversation happens. It’s not just about words or actions, it’s about the unseen – the energy. And this is where discernment comes in.

Energy Doesn’t Lie

Here’s the thing: words are easy to manipulate. They can be said in the most sincere voice, but actions – or rather, energy – tell you everything you need to know.

That’s where your intuition comes in. Your gut doesn’t lie. Your body doesn’t lie. You feel what people might try to hide. And when you ignore that feeling, you’re doing yourself a disservice.

People can fake actions. They can fake being friendly. They can spin a story, weave a narrative, and try to make you see them in a certain way. But they can’t fake their energy. And that’s exactly where discernment comes in.

We’ve all been there, right? You meet someone new, and on the surface, they seem great. They say all the right things. But something’s off.

You might dismiss it, telling yourself you’re just being paranoid, but later, you look back and think, “I should’ve trusted my gut.” That feeling you had – was their energy telling you the truth. And the energy never lies.

The Role of Discernment

The trick is to learn how to listen. We’ve been taught to rely on what people say, to give them the benefit of the doubt, to want to see the best in others. But discernment is about seeing beyond the words and understanding the energy.

It’s about trusting yourself and the way someone’s presence makes you feel. It’s about acknowledging the red flags that pop up, even if they seem small at first.

Here’s where things get tricky. The good-hearted faith we have in people, the trust we want to extend to them, can sometimes cloud our judgment.

We give people the benefit of the doubt, we believe the stories they tell us, we try to see the good in everyone. But the real challenge is recognizing when your feelings are trying to warn you, and then acting on it.

When We Ignore What We Feel

Let’s be real: sometimes it’s hard not to make excuses for people. It can be hard to not believe that everyone is doing their best.

It might seem hard to trust your vibe when it feels like you could be wrong. But as I’m sure you probably already know, the more you ignore that inner knowing, the more you allow yourself to be led astray.

You see, when we ignore our feelings, we give people the power to manipulate our perception of them. They weave their stories, shift the blame, or frame things in a way that makes us believe they’re a good human.

We want to believe in them, and that desire can override what our gut is telling us. But when we let our emotions, like our desire to trust, lead us, we can end up getting burned.

Being Present and Tapped Into Your Wisdom

So, what’s the solution? What I’ve found is that it’s about learning to be present. To really be in the moment and pay attention to how you feel.

To trust that gut feeling, even if it’s inconvenient or hard to face. When you’re in tune with your body’s wisdom and your higher guidance, you can see the truth behind the words and actions.

You can trust your own vibe and discern the energy around you. And when you do that, you won’t be so easily swayed by someone else’s story.

It’s about recognizing what’s going on beneath the surface – what you feel in your heart, in your body, in your energy. When you align yourself with your intuition and your inner knowing, you’ll have the clarity to navigate any situation.

What’s in the Way and How We Clear It

Here’s the thing: many of us struggle with discernment because we’ve been conditioned to overlook our feelings in favor of being polite, considerate, or even believing in the best of others.

So, we let our emotions get pulled in directions they shouldn’t go. We make excuses for others, rationalize their behaviors, and dismiss red flags in favor of hope.

But when we begin to lean into the discomfort, trust our gut, and tune into the energy instead of just the words, we build the muscle of discernment. That’s how we protect our peace. That’s how we minimize getting caught in situations that aren’t in our best interest. And that’s how we stay in our power.

How I Support You

This is what I do with my clients. I help them tune into their own energy, their body’s wisdom, and their intuition. We work together to develop that muscle of discernment, so they can move through life with less second-guessing themselves.

By being present and connected, you can clearly see what’s being offered, whether it’s a genuine connection or an energy drain.

When you trust your vibe, you’re able to navigate the world with more confidence, more clarity, and more peace. It’s about being intentional and using the wisdom that’s always available to you. And that wisdom is in the energy you’re sensing.

Conclusion: Trust the Vibe

At the end of the day, energy doesn’t lie. It’s up to you to trust what you’re feeling. The more you listen to that inner knowing, the easier it becomes to navigate relationships, interactions, and situations with clarity.

So the next time you’re faced with something that doesn’t quite feel right, pause. Tune in. Trust your vibe. It’s telling you everything you need to know.
