Separating God from People: Healing, Trust, and Finding Your Way Back
I’ve spent the last 10 years helping people heal their relationship with God – people who were ready to walk away, who felt abandoned, betrayed, and like everything they once believed in was falling apart. I’ve seen firsthand how deep religious trauma runs, how people’s actions and broken systems can distort the way we see God. And honestly, it’s wild. The things I’ve witnessed, the stories I’ve heard, the pain I’ve walked people through – it all makes one thing crystal clear:
God is not the problem. People are.
No matter what you’ve been through, it’s so important to separate God from the actions of humans, systems, and communities. God is not the pastor who shamed you. He’s not the church that manipulated you. He’s not the people who judged, excluded, or harmed you. But if we don’t realize that, we end up holding God accountable for things He never did. And that disconnect is exactly what the enemy wants.
The Enemy’s Real Agenda
Let’s be real – Satan’s main goal is to separate you from God. Period. Because when you turn away from God, you turn away from His blessings, His favor, and His protection. And that separation? It’s an open door. Once you’re disconnected from God, the enemy can creep into your life, your family, and your future, bringing confusion, doubt, and destruction.
The crazy part is, it doesn’t even take much. All the enemy has to do is plant the seed: “If God is so good, why did this happen to you?” And if that thought takes root, before you know it, you’re questioning everything, distancing yourself, and looking for answers in all the wrong places. That’s how idolatry sets in – putting our faith in people, money, success, or even ourselves instead of God. And the moment we do that, we start playing right into the enemy’s hands.
Rebuilding Trust in God
Healing your trust in God doesn’t mean ignoring what happened. It means recognizing that God never left. He never betrayed you. And He is still exactly who He said He is. When you root yourself in His Word and His promises, instead of the failures of people, you start to see Him differently. You realize He was there all along.
The enemy wants to keep you disconnected. God is calling you back. The choice is yours.
At the end of the day, you have a choice. You can stay stuck in the pain, letting what people did push you further from God. Or you can decide that no human, no system, no past experience is worth being separated from Him.
God has never stopped pursuing you. He’s never walked away. And He’s not afraid of your questions, your anger, or your doubts. He just wants you to bring them to Him.
So, what would it look like to let go of what’s been blocking you and give Him another chance? To actually get to know Him, not just what people told you about Him?
Because one thing I know for sure – when you seek Him for yourself, you’ll find a God who is loving, compassionate, faithful – and was never against you in the first place.

Cutting Through the Noise: Why I Prefer Straight Talk Over Fluff
I’ve always been a direct person. Maybe it’s because I have ADHD symptoms and value my working memory. Maybe it’s just because I don’t understand – or care for – the games people play.
You know the ones. The buttering up, the unnecessary small talk, the fake concern before getting to the real reason you called or messaged me. “Hey, how are you?” when you don’t actually care. “I was just thinking about you!” when you really just want something.
I don’t do that. The people in my life know – call me, and get to the point. You have about 2 – 5 minutes max before I get annoyed. If you can’t get to it by then, don’t call me. Don’t text me with a long-winded lead-up. Just tell me what you want.
Because honestly? Your extra words and long explanations feel like an attack on my working memory. And if I have to sift through unnecessary details to figure out the point, I’m not interested.
It’s not that I’m cold or don’t care. I actually care deeply. When I ask how you are, I genuinely want to know. Not because I need your whole life story, but because I want you to acknowledge how you’re feeling. If things aren’t great, I want to give you words of encouragement – because I mean it.
But when people ask how I’m doing, I can tell most don’t actually want the truth. If I say “not great,” I see the shift in their energy. They weren’t prepared for an honest answer. So why even ask?
I’ve had people in my life who don’t appreciate my directness. They want the fluff, the niceties, the extra effort to make them feel comfortable. But I’m not about that. If I call, it’s because I have a reason. I respect your time, energy, and effort. I assume you’d appreciate the same.
The people I get along with best operate the same way. We don’t waste time. We talk when we need to. We don’t fill conversations with unnecessary fluff just to stroke egos.
And that’s what I don’t understand – why do we, as humans, play these games? Why waste time, energy, and effort on things that don’t matter? Is any of this actually serving us? Or is it just social conditioning, forcing us into a cycle of insincere interactions?
Maybe it’s just me. Maybe it’s the ADHD. Or maybe I’m just a real person who likes to keep it real. Either way, I’m not changing this aspect of me. So, if you ever need something from me – skip the fluff. Get to the point.
Sending you big virtual hugs,
Jasmine

Why Surrendering to God’s Authority Brings Clarity, Peace, and True Alignment
There’s a lot of noise in the world. A lot of voices, opinions, and so-called “truths” floating around. But at the end of the day, one truth remains – God supersedes all. His authority, wisdom, and will override everything. Period.
Yet, people get caught up in human systems, personal agendas, and the illusion of control. They act like their way, their logic, or even their feelings somehow override God’s divine order. Spoiler: They don’t.

God’s Authority Stands Firm
Let’s start with this:
“The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all.”(Psalm 103:19)
That means God isn’t checking in to see if we approve of His plan. He’s not waiting for human validation. His rule is final. His authority isn’t up for debate. Whether people acknowledge it or not, God’s will prevails.
Another verse makes it even clearer:
“I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.”(Job 42:2)
People try. They manipulate, deceive, and even attempt to rewrite reality. But no one can cancel what God has ordained. What He has spoken will happen – on His terms, not ours.
Man’s Plans vs. God’s Will
Us Humans love to make plans. We map out our futures, strategize our next moves, and convince ourselves that we’re in control. But let’s be real – our best-laid plans mean nothing if they’re not aligned with God’s purpose.
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”(Proverbs 19:21)
That right there? That’s the truth people resist the most. They fight against God’s way because it requires surrender. It requires trust. And let’s be honest – some of us would rather run our lives into the ground than submit to divine wisdom.
But God’s way is always higher:
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.(Isaiah 55:8)
He sees the full picture. We don’t. So why do we insist on resisting?
The Danger of Putting Anything Above God
Now, this is where people get tripped up. They put things – systems, people, emotions, culture – above God. They let fear, money, politics, personal desires, or societal trends dictate their choices instead of aligning with divine truth.
“You shall have no other gods before Me.”(Exodus 20:3)
That’s not just about idols made of stone. Anything we elevate above God becomes a false god. That includes our own egos. Our own understanding. Our own need for control.
Jesus made it plain and clear:
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.”(Matthew 6:24)
There’s no neutral ground here. You either align with God’s order, or you don’t. You either acknowledge His supreme authority, or you don’t. And ignoring Him doesn’t change the fact that He reigns.
Aligning with God’s Supremacy
So, what do we do with this? How do we shift? Simple – we recognize, respect, and realign with God’s divine order.
Seek His Will First:“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”(Matthew 6:33)
Stop Relying on Your Own Understanding:“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”(Proverbs 3:5-6)
Submit to His Authority:“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.”(1 Peter 5:6)
This isn’t about losing yourself. It’s about finding real peace, real purpose, and real power by surrendering to the One who has it all under control.
God supersedes all. Period. The sooner we embrace that, the freer we become.
Check Your Alignment with God’s Order
In what areas of your life have you been relying more on your own understanding than on God’s wisdom?
Are there any people, systems, or desires that you’ve unintentionally placed above God?
How do you respond when your plans don’t align with God’s purpose? Do you resist or surrender?
What steps can you take today to fully acknowledge and submit to God’s authority in your decisions, relationships, and daily life?
Where is God asking you to trust Him more, even when things don’t make sense?
Take a moment to sit with these questions. Let them challenge you. Let them guide you back to what matters most – aligning with the One who supersedes all.

God’s Love Transcends Your Challenges – You’re Never Beyond His Reach
So many people walk through life believing they are too broken, too damaged, or too lost for God to restore them. They look at their past, their pain, and the way others have treated them and think they are beyond redemption.
The world, with its materialistic and ego-driven mindset, reinforces this lie. People judge based on status, appearance, or success, using their own agendas and fears to keep others down.
But let me tell you the truth – you’re never too far gone for God.

The Lies of the World vs. The Truth of God
There are people who will say you’re not good enough, not worthy, or that you’ll never rise above your circumstances. They do this because of their own selfishness, jealousy, and brokenness. They believe that keeping others down elevates them. This sickness runs rampant in society, and it’s one that God is already calling judgment on.
Remember God’s truth stands above all of that.
The world may say you’re unworthy, but God calls you His own (Isaiah 43:1).
People may abandon you, but God never will (Deuteronomy 31:8).
Your past may be messy, but God’s grace is greater than our mistakes (Romans 8:1).
Restoration Comes Through God
The way we find healing and restoration isn’t through seeking approval from people or chasing after the material world. It’s through leaning into God. When we turn to Him, when we trust His promises, when we allow His Spirit to fill us, we receive:
God’s healing grace (2 Corinthians 12:9)
God’s protection and guidance (Psalm 91:4)
God’s unwavering love (Romans 8:38-39)
Humans are unpredictable. They can love you one day and turn on you the next. But God is faithful. He never leaves. He never changes.
The Enemy’s Deception
The enemy will use people, circumstances, and even our own thoughts to try to convince us that we’re too far gone. That we’ll never be free, never be healed, never be loved. But that’s a lie.
God says:
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
“Nothing can separate you from my love.” (Romans 8:38-39)
Jesus came for the lost, the broken, the outcast. He didn’t come for perfect people – because there are none. He came for YOU.
Lean Into God
No matter what you’ve done, no matter where you’ve been, God is waiting for you with open arms. His love, His mercy, and His redemption are always available.
So today, I remind you to reject the lies. Reject the doubt. Reject the shame. Lean into God. He has never left you, and He never will.
Together in Christ we Rise.

Flawed but still chosen – this is about self-awareness, growth, and faith. Owning imperfections, evolving, and deepening our connection with God.
I’m flawed. I say it all the time. People judge me for it. They create these preconceived ideas about what that means, what I’m capable of, and the one that baffles me the most – what they think I deserve.
All of this blows my mind. Like, how did we get here?
When did we get here?
I try. That’s what I know. I have the best intentions most of the time, and I genuinely want to help others. We deserve so much more than we’ve allowed ourselves to even comprehend.
Diving deep into biblical principles has helped me understand things so much better. It has validated me being me.
I am flawed, and it’s my willingness to acknowledge that – and understand what it means – that strengthens my connection with my gifts and with God.
Flawed, But Not Complacent
Being flawed doesn’t mean settling. It doesn’t mean using our imperfections as an excuse to stay stuck, repeat the same mistakes, or avoid growth. If anything, it’s the opposite.
Acknowledging my flaws means I stay aware – of myself, the role I play in my own experiences, and my relationship with God.
Growth isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about deepening our understanding, owning our choices, and evolving into who we were created to be. That takes work. It takes honesty. It takes a willingness to see where we need to shift and actually do it.
What the Bible Says About Being Flawed
The Bible is full of people who were flawed yet still used by God. Actually, the entire foundation of grace rests on the fact that we are flawed – but still loved, still chosen, and still capable of being instruments of goodness.
1. We All Fall Short “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
There’s no exception. Not one of us has it all together. And yet, God still calls us worthy.
2. Our Weakness is Where God’s Strength Shows Up “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” ( 2 Corinthians 12:9)
This one hit me hard. The very things I once saw as flaws, as evidence of not being good enough, were actually the spaces where God wanted to show up the most.
3. Flaws Don’t Disqualify Us “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)
People will always have their opinions. They’ll always see flaws and make assumptions about what we deserve. But God? He sees what’s beneath all of that.
The Truth About Being Flawed
Being flawed doesn’t mean I’m unworthy. It doesn’t mean I should shrink myself or stop trying. If anything, it means I lean in even more – to grace, to growth, and to God.
So if you’re like me, constantly aware of your imperfections, wondering if you’re “too much” or “not enough” at the same time – know this: You are exactly who you’re meant to be. And God is still working through you.
Flaws and all.

As believers, we really gotta start laughing at the enemy. Like, legit laughing. Because the devil is a liar.
There’s not enough money? The devil is a liar. There’s not enough peace? The devil is a liar. We aren’t enough? The devil is a liar. There’s too much competition? The devil is a liar.
Why on earth do we keep giving these lies any space in our minds, our lives, or even in our nervous systems? Why do we keep entertaining the nonsense that goes against biblical principles and what we know to be true? It seriously boggles my mind.
This is why being grounded in biblical truth matters. This is why knowing God’s promises, His favor, and His Word is non-negotiable. Because if we really understood the gift Jesus gave us – like really understood it – we wouldn’t keep playing small. We wouldn’t keep boxing God in. We wouldn’t keep giving weight to these worldly systems, fears, and distractions that were never meant to define us.
Let me make this clear:
God created the enemy.
Let that sink in.
I’ll say it again.
God created the enemy.
That means God already knows every single move the enemy is going to make. Every trick. Every scheme. Every lie meant to throw us off track, make us doubt ourselves, or disconnect us from God’s truth. God already knows. And yet, He remains unshaken. He remains sovereign. He remains loving and ever-present.
God has never left or forsaken us. The only time it feels like He has is when we start believing the enemy’s lies over God’s truth. When we stop listening to the Holy Spirit, when we let fear, doubt, and confusion dictate our choices – that’s when we do ourselves a disservice. That’s when we shrink, when we second-guess, when we put ourselves in boxes God never designed for us.
So when people come up to you talking about:
“There’s so much competition.” — The devil is a liar. “You’re not good enough.” — The devil is a liar. “You have to do X, Y, and Z just to be worthy.” — The devil is a liar. “There’s not enough to go around.” — The devil is a liar.
And instead of just saying it, start laughing at it.
Seriously. Laugh. Because it’s ridiculous. It’s actually comical when you think about it. The enemy has no power except what we give him through fear and doubt. The minute we stop feeding into it, he loses. Every single time.
So stand firm. Know who you are. Know who God is. And laugh at anything that dares to challenge that. Because at the end of the day, we already know the outcome. And it sure isn’t the enemy who wins.
Remember, Together in Christ we Rise.
